We often think of chemicals as being man-made, or “anthropogenic,” but did you know that most chemicals are actually natural and make up the world around us—from the soil we walk on to the air we breathe?
Sometimes useful, even essential, and other times concerning for our health and the planet, chemicals raise a lot of questions.

Here’s the perfect opportunity to learn more about the world of chemistry while having fun! Put your students’ reasoning skills, teamwork, and knowledge to the test.
Most importantly, help them develop critical thinking and learn to stay alert!
For upper elementary students (grades 5 and 6) and secondary school students.
Activity duration: 30 minutes
To participate, all you need to do is:
- Download and carefully read the Teacher’s Guide along with the instructions for evaluating the activity.
- Find two (2) sound indicators (bells, horns, squeaky toys, etc.).
- Watch the video below and follow the instructions!
